SUBJECT:
Awarding the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement, Armed Forces level to Battery A, 7th Battalion 15th United States Artillery and Battery C, 1st Battalion, 92nd United States Artillery.

Dear General,

The Joint General Staff, Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces, intends to award the Certificate of Outstanding Achievement, Armed Forces level, to:

- Battery A, 7th Battalion, 15th United States Artillery
- Battery C, 1st Battalion, 92nd United States Artillery

Battery A rendered meritorious services during Operation "Quang Trung TF/4", Quang Trung 22/1" and "Quang Trung 47/4" successively conducted from 14 February 1971 to 22 April 1971 at Benhet, Dakto, Phu Nhon.

Battery C rendered meritorious services during Operations "23/1", "23/2" and "23/3" conducted from 24 April 1971 to 16 May 1971 at Phu Nhon and Pleime.

"With the above outstanding achievements, Battery C, 1st Battalion, 92nd Artillery, United States Army has made a substantial contribution to the effort against the Communists in order to preserve freedom in the Republic of Vietnam."

- Considering Directive #10611/QP/NV/HT, dated 14 September 1970
concerning the awarding of the Certificate of Outstanding
achievement and the Certificate of Commendation;

AWARDS THE CERTIFICATE OF OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT,
Armed Forces level, to:

BATTERY C, 1ST BATTALION, 92nd ARTILLERY - UNITED STATES ARMY

"An outstanding unit, which has always
displayed a gallant fighting spirit."

During its commitment to combat missions in Vietnam from February 1967 to 26 May 1971, although fighting under extremely difficult conditions, the men of Battery C, 1st Battalion, 92nd Artillery, United States Army, over came all difficulties and hardships to successfully carry out artillery support plans, thus effectively blocking the North Vietnamese Communists, sabotage and infiltration schemes in Military Region 2.

In particular, Battery C, 1st Battalion, 92nd Artillery, United States Army, contributed significantly to the splendid successes of Operations Quang Trung 23/1, 23/2 and 23/3 and the operation to release enemy pressure in Phu Nhon area, inflicting heavy losses upon the Communists.

In addition to military activities, the men of Battery C took an effective part in civil affairs projects in order to help the local population, thus achieving excellent results.
