Did anyone in our 1/92 FA Bn have friends within the battalion who were from the same home town? .....Combat deaths are always tragic but even worse when many people from the same town are all killed at once. .....We all become friends while in a combat zone so to each individual, any death is a sad occasion. Just seems even worse when all the families also know everyone who was killed. .....I hope the families in Ohio have excellent pastoral care comparable to that provided by our own 1/92 FA comrade Lee Thompson

Well, here I am in Denver, all retired from the Air Force and working at the VA hospital. What a blessing, supervising Pastoral Care for our nation's heros. If you get to this town look me up. I'll buy you a cup of coffee.(303)393-2802

Thanks to Johnny and Susan for opening their home to us. And thanks to Johnny for the hard work he did. The tours and dinners were great. Meeting new friends and seeing old friends was a lot of fun.

Johnny Cahn has added more information on the Reunion 2005 for those of you who are going. For those who aren't sure and are sitting on the proverbial fence. Come on, it will be fun. There are about two dozen members at present who will be attending.

Nice article in Newsweek June 20 issue about Fathers, Sons, And War. Would have been better if our own Bo and his son Mark had been featured. Would have put the 1/92 FA in the national news.

It is with deep regret that I report the loss of a brother in arms. On this past Friday, Dave C Eaheart Sr. passed away from cancer. Dave was living in the Chicago area where he was from. Dave was a member of 'C' Btry. 1/92nd I believe from 6/69 to 6/70. Dave was with the 1/92nd about a year before I was. Our sons played baseball together and I was their coach. We never knew each other was in Viet-Nam let alone in the same unit. It was quite remarkable to us. I believe Dave was on 'Hill 6', and moved alot. Those who knew Dave or want to, can sign his guest book at the following site. www.becvarfuneralhome.com Best To All Steve Benthine 'C'Btry Gun 4 3/71-9/71

Ron “Ronnie” Browning, C Battery 3/70-3/71 was murdered on June 9th, 2005, when he approached some low life who was logging illegally on his land in Eastern Kentucky. He was a soft spoken, caring wonderful human being. You can write his wife Jan @ Jan Browning PO Box 379 Viper KY 41774-0379 He had 677 people at his Memorial Service with Military Honors and a 21 Gun Salute at graveside. He will never be forgotten, but missed by many.

CONGRATULATIONS to Chaplain, Colonel Lee Thompson. You are a most distinguished member of the 1/92 FA, Your advancement from draftee to Colonel O-6 is very rare. .....It is my opinion that you were better able to serve the military and He who you were ordained to serve than would be most chaplains who had not actually 'been in the trenches in combat'. .....The 3 chaplains of the 52nd Artillery Group were very fine men but unfortunately, you in the firing batteries did not get to associate as closely with them as we who spent most of our tour on Artillery Hill.

I tried sending this to your e-mail addy but it came back so I`ll post it here. Lee, Just want to say congratulations on your retirement and take this time to say 'job well done'. Now take some time for yourself, you`ve earned it !! Now go back to Minnesota and do some fishing ! When I knew you in `Nam I would have never figured you to stay in the service this long. But I suppose I should`nt be all that suprised because I never figured you to go back as a chaplain. But then again, life is all full of suprises. Sorry that circumstances won`t allow me to be there but then again, I don`t think my 'uniform of the day' would fit me today !! ;o) Ron McGinnity c btry 1/92 arty 67-69

Greetings from one who just recently discovered this site. While in Santa Barbara, California in early May, 2005 I came upon the travelng half-size replica of the Vietman War Memorial set up on the beach. I was moved to find T.C. Miller's name. A 'Google' search of Miller led to the War Memorial site, and then to this site. It's great to see that a lot of information otherwise lost in the 'fog of war' has been preserved. I will never forget the brave, capable and outstanding men I served with in 2d Platoon, C Battery, and in particular the comradery we shared at Phu Nhon (LZ T.C. Miller) from January to June, 1971, and during the siege in March.

Col. Raymond C. Amenson was my grandfather. He raised me before passing away in 1991. If anyone has any stories or information about him, I would be forever grateful for anything you could give me. He and I were best friends and there isn't a single day that I don't wish I knew more about him. Thank you!
