Just a few words this Memorial Day for me it has been 30 years since I came home from Nam. It has been a long hard battle that I fought at home the last years. It must be time for me to make another trip to The Wall. Every time my head gets this screwy I have to come back to reality by thinkink of all the names on that Wall.

'Vietnam Picture Tour...' from the lens and poet's pen of a combat infantryman, who's walked the walk, and can talk the talk... http://PZZZZ.tripod.com/namtour.html Here, through pictures and poetry, take a walk in 'the park' with the 1st Air Cavalry on combat patrol. Experience the chilling reality that will give the sweet and sour taste of 'the Nam' on your tongue, leave the pungent smell of 'the Nam' acrid in your nostrils, and imbed textures of 'the Nam' in your brain as though you were walking beside me in combat. ... I served with B Co 2nd/7th 1st Air Cavalry '66 - '67, as a combat infantryman, a 'Grunt,' operating out of LZ Betty near beautiful downtown Phan Thiet, Vietnam, participating in an event that took the innocence of many a young boy, and changed us all indelibly and forever.

As Memorial Day nears, I am saddened by thought of the brothers who gave their all. But, my spirits are lifted when I recall all the brothers with whom I served in Vietnam and those whom I have come to know through the 1/92 Association. On Memorial Day, I salute you all.

Great Sight. I was with 5th/22nd Arty June 67- Nov 68. We arrived RVN 24 Dec 67. We were 175-8' Battalion. We worked many of the same areas as 1/92nd. PoleiKleng, DucLap, DakTo, SouiDoi, BinKhe, BanMeThout, Phan Thiet and more. I am sure we coordinated artillery fires more than once. It is great to see the pictures and memoirs being posted. It is jogging some of my own. Thank you. Steve Sipos

Hello, everyone. I need your help urgently.I am Bob Mims, a religion and history writer with The Salt Lake Tribune. For a Memorial Day story I'm working on based on the theme 'God and Country,' I'm trying to reach one of the men listed on your MOH site: Brian Miles Thacker. Since you have his photo, I was hoping you also could put me in touch with him over the next couple days for an interview. Mr. Thacker was born in Ohio, but entered the Army in Salt Lake City, thus our interest. Anything you can do would be much appreciated. Hello. Today is Easter Monday 2001, and somewhat of an anniversary for me. Thirty years ago on Easter Monday, I reported for duty with A Battery at Firebase Kelly on Artillery Hill in Pleiku. I’m still grateful for the great guys and camaraderie of the Battery and grateful that it was a “quiet” tour of duty until the Battery went home. Tom Kanis LTC FA (USAR)(Ret)

Hello my name in the 92nd B Battery 4th section was Rufas. Very few people knew my real name. I had a lot of section cheifs. I do remember a few. Sargant Conway, Him and I hooked all the guns out on LZ Hambone and 7-8 months later when the guns split I was with the 2 guns that went to poly clang and lost our gun. me and a new guy hooked it on the flying crane and it fell off. Raymond Johnson was our section chief at LZ Vera Earl Nolan our squad leader as we called him. Hugh Morrison or goofy. Albert Gillian was with us too. We were lucky we didnt loose any people. 3rd section wasnt so lucky. Greg stiger was kia earlier times leroy townes and bob alexander was kia. A lot wounded but we survied. I was shocked when I recently read on this site about A Battery and all the kia and wounded. I feel for their familys after thirty two years . Write to me or call I want to hear from you. (209-522-3674 or 2117 Donald st. Modesto Calif. 95351. Men I remember are Lt. Hickman, Lt. Harris, Lt Fairington, Sargeant Branch, Capt Euder ray la blave and capt Ray I was there Oct 67-Feb 69. My Friends who are helping me on this are true americans: I am proud to have them in B Battery 1st 92nd. Thank you Nancy C. for your service.Hope to hear from you John Connely.

FO 5/4th Artillery, worked with the 1/61st Inf. 5th Inf. Division Red Devil on the DMZ. I read the history of C Brty 1/92nd Red Devils and found it interesting, The 5th Division got it name the Rde Devils in WWII while serving in the 3rd Army under Patton and was the spear head. The name red devil came from a German Officer cause the 5th Division could not be stop, it lead the way for Patton and the 3rd Army. Thanks
